As part of a significant upgrade to Surfguard, released into production Tuesday, 23rd June 2020, key components impacting on Surfguard Users are:
1. New URL https://surfguard.sls.com.au

Surfguard Enhancements
Extended Number of Days for Email Notification Regarding Expiring Member Protection Fields
Previously Club/Branch/State Administrators who had set up to get email notifications regarding Expiring Member Protection fields were only sent notification 15 days prior to the expiry date. The notification email is now sent 60 days prior to give Club/Branch/State Administrators enough time to notify the member and for the member to get their Member Protection updated. Operations App
Incidents (IRD)
IRD Incidents can now be viewed, edited and created in the Operations App. The data from the App will be synced in real-time with SurfGuard/IRD. Live Surfcom incidents are viewable within the app
The Incident section is accessible by selecting the 3 bars located at the top left-hand corner of the page and then selecting ‘Incidents’. Incidents can only be accessed by members who are able to manage patrols eg Patrol Captain, Vice-Captain etc For information on how to manage Incidents in the Operations App Click Here

Surfcom
Surfcom Enhancements – (Released Tuesday 7th July 2020)
A number of new enhancements will be released, including:-
1. New look and feel for ALL incident related screens
2. Incident Response is now a new section within an Incident (available once the incident has been created). Incident response messages can be sent to any groups or members at any time throughout an incident and the individuals will be displayed and have their response time and ETA shown
3. More detail about an incident (Further Information and Location Map) will display when a person receives an Incident Response SMS and clicks the link in the SMS
4. In the ‘message log’ section of an incident, a flip icon now displays between the ‘from’ and ‘to’ entity selections that will allow the operator to flip the entities that are selected so that the one in ‘to’ goes to ‘from’ and vice versa.
5. Incident Log page now shows as a complete timeline of events shown in chronological order by Date/Time
6. Incident listing pages now display ‘date and time’ of incident creation and the column headers are clickable enabling users to sort by Incident number, date/time and priority
7. Ability to attach supporting documentation/images to an incident

Members Area
Forms
Enhancements to Forms for Club, State & National Administrators
1. Additional filtering options have been added to the View Submissions page including search by Club Name or Members Name
2. Email notifications sent to Club, State & National form approvers when a form requires approval at their level of the organisation
Coming Soon – Trainer, Assessor & Facilitator (TAF), Officials, Coaches & Age Managers Service Awards
SLSA is currently developing online forms for TAF Awards and is scoping Coaches, Officials and Age Managers Awards
Assigning Administrative Functions to Members Area
Club/Branch/State/National administrators/officers will now be able to assign the following admin functions via the Officer Positions in Surfguard:
- Approve Members Area News Content
- Approved Member Area Library Content
- SLSA Online Member Store/Shop Administrator
- Form Approver

Guide for Season Close & Start of Season Tasks – Updated
The SLSA IT Systems Guide for Season Close & Start of Season Tasks has been updated for the end of 2019/20 season and beginning of 2020/21 season and can be downloaded from SLSA Online Help
